Professional Summary
Educational technology and special education have been a passion of mine for many years. Because I am an intervention specialist, I have been able to demonstrate ways to utilize technology within the classrooms where I team teach. I have been placed in charge of conducting district wide in-services for web page design, explaining how to utilize Smart board technology in the classroom, hosted "Appy" Hour workshops to demonstrate how to use various apps within the classroom on our IPad, demonstrated how to set up and utilize student response systems, and used the I Author program to write our district's own 7th and 8th grade science textbooks, after we deconstructed the standards and completed curriculum mapping at both grade levels with differentiation in mind for general education, gifted and special education students. My job as an intervention specialist and lead teacher has enabled me to collaborate with many teachers in my building, as well as my district. Because I work across grade levels and subject areas, I am incredibly familiar with content standards, including an in-depth knowledge of common core standards. I have also been able to assist teachers in finding apps and tech tools that not only enhance their lessons, but directly correlate with Bloom's taxonomy, as well as the rigor/relevance framework. I am also expected to trouble-shoot when tech problems arise. As an intervention specialist, I have written IEP's, ETR's and Transition pieces. I have conducted and scheduled IAT, ETR and IEP meetings, as well. I team teach with the general education teachers, where we spend time collaborating on lesson plans, and mapping out our curriculum. I enjoy team teaching, and feel strongly that it benefits the students both academically and socially. I am passionate about collaborating with teachers and helping them locate and use technology that will enhance their curriculum and engage their students. I have also currently had the pleasure of being on the ODE science standards working group as we work to better the science standards in Ohio. I would appreciate the opportunity to meet with you to discuss how my skills and experience would benefit your district. Thank you for your consideration. Sincerely, Nicole Rothbauer INTERVENTION SPECIALIST & TECHNOLOGY LIAISON Compassionate ~ Diligent ~Collaborative ~ Supportive ~ Innovative Versatile and dedicated with a solid focus on the individual needs of students, both at-risk and students identified with disabilities.
