Summary
I am a man experienced in many different professions for a few reasons. Learning, Progressing, and working my hardest to excel in whatever I do. In the past I have never been one to pass on an opportunity to learn or push to strengthen my skills.
I'm looking for a full-time position in a company where taking the initiative and going that extra mile are rewarded, and opportunities to do so come often. I consider myself a company man, but being a company man isn't the sole reason I would work my hardest every day to make sure everything continues running smooth and learning as much as I can along the way. I have come to find that when someone is good at any one thing, and gets to put their skills to good use, you tend to enjoy your work more.
Most of my life I always tended to veer towards more 'hands on' work, but through the years and different things I've experienced it seems to me life had something slightly different in mind. Over the past year I've spent working for NHS I'd learned much more than I can put into this summary. What I can say, is that I enjoyed the work. It's the type of work that could make a person really enjoy what they do when you realize that you're truly helping people. When I wasn't spending my time on the clock, I returned home to my second job. Doesn't pay, but it's fulfilling all the same.
I'm my Mother's primary care giver. She's been on the liver transplant list for two years now, and even though things haven't been easy I've never felt closer to her. I realized that this is what I'd like to do. Given the opportunity, I'd hope to guide, connect, inspire, and if I'm lucky really make a difference.

Skills
  • Patient, especially when it feels most difficult
  • Understanding, looking at situations from everyone's point of view is important
  • Stern when needed. In this line of work (given the client) it can be difficult to help someone that either doesn't know any better or doesn't want to be helped.
  • Keep a clean and organized work space at all times
  • Team player, Easy going, and Easy to get along with
  • Very mindful of personal safety and the safety of those around me
  • Always open-minded, ready and willing to learn
  • Good at taking criticism
  • Will admit if and when I am wrong
Experience
Laborer Feb 2018 to Current
Sadler Construction Indiana, Pennsylvania

Sadler Construction does just about anything our customers could think to ask about. There is such a wide variety, the easiest way to explain what it's like working there is day to day taking on the task laid in front of you and working your hardest, making intelligent decisions every day. After only a few months I've seen people come and go for mainly a couple reasons. Either working simply just wasn't something they enjoyed doing, or they just weren't able to keep up and weren't sure what to do or how to approach a task. TIme spent at this company had honestly taught me a lot.

Welder Jun 2015 to Jun 2016
JWF Industries Weld School Johnstown, PA

I was certified as a Welder after partaking in classes offered to select employees at JWF. George Markovich ( Welding instructor for the local Penn Highlands Community College, also a gifted and thorough instructor) assessed my overall knowledge of a variety of welding techniques in the classroom, as well as the ability to assess individual situations. Requirements of the course included being able to confidently determine how the welder itself is to be set, as well as reading and understanding blueprints. Each part welded during the exam was x-rayed and cut in half to determine the integrity of each weld layed before deciding with other experienced welders whether or not I had retained the knowledge and skills necessary to certify me as a Welder.

Immediately after receiving the results from George I was put to work on a lot of JWF's contracts with JLG.  JLG at the time had a contract with us to manufacture hundrecs of different parts of handrail. All of which were welded by me and three other men on my crew. A list was emailed weekly, but altewred regularly. Managing ourselves for the most part became a regular thing as well.

Today I'm grateful for the time I spent on that crew. I gained management skills I still use every day. Taking care with everything I do had become second nature for me as well, and still is.

I was told by everyone I worked with that I picked up the trade faster than most, and I truely enjoy doing it. Doesn't everyone enjoy doing what they're good at?

Laborer Jun 2014 to Jun 2015
JWF Industries Johnstown, PA

Starting on the 'Paint Line', there was really only one direcgtion for me to go... up. After showing enough initiative, I progressed to another stage of the company. The 'Knock-Out Cell' was generally where I learned the basics to surviving in a manufacturing company. General skills suh as reading blueprints, driving a fork lift, and regular use of hand tools and other machinery. I learned how important it is to maintain a team building environment that's able to maintain communication and still stay on task. Once an appropriate amount of time was spent proving I was more than capable of handling the types of responsabilities associated with the knock-out cell, I was given an opportunity to learn how to operate their 'Brake Presses'.

After a few short weeks of learning and picking up a few tricks of the trade from several different men I'd trained with, I was given a position running a 1,000 Ton Brake Press on my own.

Wasn't bery long after that another opportunity was laid in front of me. I'd be hired on as a full time employee and given a four dollar raise to either continue running my machine, or I could take a shot at becoming a Welder with the same benefits as well as the same waige. I saw a chance go learn something new and jumped. There was only one catch, if I couldn't cut it as a welder, there was no going back. That's how I started at JWF sweeping floors on the paint line, and left as a certified welder.

Education and Training
High School Diploma, General Studies 12 Central Cambria High School Ebensburg, PA, United States
Activities and Honors
My family takes the majority of my time. I have only one brother and one sister, but with my parents divorced and my mother in need of a liver transplant she's unable to completely take care of herself. I'm the oldest of my siblings, and with my sister being so young and living with my father and my brother constantly working, I spend most of my free time staying and spending time with my mother for the simple fact that she's just too weak to do most things on her own. I'm her 'Primary Care Giver', so attending any and every appointment I can is what my life has mostly consisted of lately.
Before it became known that my mother is so sick, I was an avid snowboarder when the weather was right. It's been a hobby of mine since I was about ten years old, but it's a seasonal hobby. So for the rest of the year I like to spend my time working with my hands, mostly with friends and family. An example would be working with my Uncle Chad to build his house, or spending a summer with my grandfather building a steel building behind his house to work in. I like to stay busy. The promise of working towards something to be accomplished gives a feeling like what you're doing is something to be proud of.
