Professional Summary
To whom it may concern, I am a local nurse who is looking to expand her horizons by stepping into a different career path. While I enjoy my current position, I have found it necessary to branch out and explore other opportunities available in the nursing field. I obtained a bachelor of nursing degree from Kent State University in 1995. After graduation, I worked for Laurie Ann Nursing Home in Newton Falls for several months while also working part time for Dr. Parisa Khavari in Warren. I was offered a full-time position with Dr. Khavari in her OB/GYN office for the next two years. I resigned to take a position with Valor Medical Billing Company, coding and running medical records. Since my husband and I were beginning a family, this was an optimal move. I worked in this capacity for five and a half years, handling several accounts for local doctors. After our third child arrived, I decided to resign this position as well and be a full-time mother. My nursing career was on hold! After six years as a stay-at-home mom, I did coursework in the field of school nursing/pediatrics for my re certification and license to get back into the field. I am currently employed by two local pediatricians, Dr. Dianna Tolen and Dr. John Cox, in Canfield. In this capacity I handle office visitations, immunizations, phone triage, and even some billing duties. I also coordinate the ADHD patient care program. Now that my children are older I feel it is time to step into the nursing career I always envisioned. I feel that my past experience both with nursing and with medical records / billing gives me a unique repertoire from which to draw. I am confident I can be of value to you and your staff if given the chance. If you should have any positions-full or part-time, please keep me in mind. I am available for an interview at your earliest convenience and look forward to hearing from you. To obtain a nursing position in a hospital/surgical center.
