For example while responding to a critical response, being able to talk to law enforcement officers, emergency medial personal, and members of the community contribute in help solve the incident.

Organizing and Planning
The schedule in our department is constantly moving, things change, andwe (asofficers) are responsible to ensure that communication is given. For example, the department was asked to provide duty for a local warehouse during the holiday. There was a conflict of scheduling so I contacted my fellow officers and explained the situation. Through this we planned me to come in earlier than scheduled, and had an other officer stay later than scheduled. I personally stayed to ensure that everything went as planned.

As a law enforcement officer, everyday I am identifying problems, making decision, manage risks and evaluating/ analyzing problems and situations. For example, I witnessed a vehicle, that was speeding and swerving all of the road. I conducted a traffic stop, the individual was sobbing, having her phone in her hand, and was shaking. This individual had just lost her mother, and was trying to find childcare for her three children. In this moment, I asked the lady to step out of the vehicle, to walk to the side of the road, and allowed her an opportunity to gather herself away from her children. I provided her with some personal advice, ensured that she was able to drive, and gave her some information on services available .

Flexibility/ Adaptability
Last Thanksgiving and Christmas in our department, I received a phone call asking me if I was able to come into work. I understand that I have an obligation, and to have a successful department we (officers) have to be flexible and adaptable. Holidays are not excluded.

Initiative
I am constantly being proactive as a law enforcement officer. I witness individuals with car problems on a daily basis. I am always stopping to change peoples tires, and to unlock their car doors when keys where locked inside.
