My first month of working with Lowe's I was the employee of the month. I was also apart of the leads team which i was the very first member ever and would generate sales and leads for our sales teams (like interest in a deck install etc..)
With Dollar General the margin of our store went down 10 percent in my time there.
At Happy Trails we went from $85,000 a year to $125,000 and renovated the store to accommodate our growing customer base.
Started out part time in 2016, worked two jobs for close to a year until the full time slot was open, I applied for it and got it. Roughly six months after that I applied to be manager of the entire store. Which I also got. My time there was spent ordering and finding the best prices for us, for our customers, and for online browsers. I would receive packages and label the prices myself based on our mark up rate. I was in complete control. Happy Trails is a "head shop" or novelty shop that sells pipes and 60's-70's era memorabilia.
With Highland I worked my way from Laborman to running my own truck, i focused on pests. In the winter we focused on snow removal where I shoveled snow and spread salt.
In my time with C.J's I learned business, I watched my superiors closely and learned from them exceptionally well. C.J's is one of the only family owned restaurants in the area and one of the longest standing. I would seat customers, take their order (drinks and food), then deliver order to kitchen staff or make it myself if I was on kitchen. I would also count my drawer as a hot to make sure 120.00 atleast was always in the drawer (for servers and customers alike) also I would clean my section, work food prep for next day, and always take huge parties from 10-100. I love and cherish my time with C.J's, I truly found myself and my goals at that restaurant.
At Superior Vending I learned how to deal with irate customers. Drove box truck, with delicate food items inside.I would at every stop meet a customer upset with the lack of snack or drink when they had put money into our machines. I would refund them and give the desired product to said customer (via Ownership decision). This Aspect taught me great Customer Service and how to remain calm in a stressful environment.
I stepped into management at the ground level with Dollar General, I quickly learned the matrix of the store and its setup. I handled three inventories, my first being within my first month. I was in charge of opening and closing the store including, money management, money drops to the bank, till accuracy, weighing in on who to and not to hire. The only job I wasn't responsible for was discipline over my employees.

Working at ACE was the best thing for me, I learned so much from my peers and and boss. That knowledge i gained has made me fall in love with retail and I intend to pursue this as a career. The travel to Fairmont from Buckhannon was getting to be to much and I needed something closer to home.
