I started Working for Rokstad Power in November 2016 on the Brucejack Mine Project. My Daily duties varied from Working at the Fly Yard to Dead Ending and Sagging Conductor at DeadEnd Structures. Due to the Nature of the Work and the Location all Works involved Helicopter Access into Sites. Hoist and Skid Transfer directly on to Structures. I was involved in Flying Hardline and Stringing Steel Conductor in a 14 Span Pull over a Mountain Range and a Glacier. Daily Tailboard Meetings were necessary and Avalanche Prevention Training given on site.
I was Hired for Balfour Beatty to oversee the Installation and Use of the Catenary System that Balfour Beatty had Developed any years ago. This System was used to String Twin - Single Bundled ACSR Conductor over Homes, Businesses, Roads and Railways. I was dealing with the Public and Clients such as Network Rail on a Daily Basis and Holding Closure Permits. I was part of a Platform Access Crew who's duties included Stripping Out Twin Conductor ready for Pulling. Sagging, Soft and Hard Side Dead Ends. Jumpering and Stringing OPGW Wire on the Earth Wire.
I was Hired for Electricity Networks NI to oversee some Tower Inspections including Tower Furniture assessment and Replacement. Re Insulation on Twin Conductor and Re Spacering using a Powered Spacer Trolley.
My Duties as a Foreman / Linesman included completing and updating Daily Safety Paperwork and Tailboards for the Day\'s tasks. Stringing Single, Twin and Quad Phase Bundled Conductors with varied Voltages from 138,000 - 500,000kv. Also Stringing OHSW and OPGW.Working with Cranes, Bucket Truck\'s and Helicopters on a daily Basis to access Structures while Blocking, Sagging, Clamping In, Jumpering, Dead Ending and Conductor Termination and Sub Stations where Downleads and Droppers were fitted. Tower Assembly and Erection with Helicopters and Cranes, Back Bolting and Tower Inspection.Framing and Setting Wood Poles. Communicating with Multiple Crews doing Different Tasks to obtain the Highest Level of Safety. Field Transit Trained for Sagging Phase Conductor\'s on Single, Twin, Quad, OHSW and OPGW.
As a Chargehand / linesman I held various Permits For Work for National Grid and was part of a 24 Man Stringing Crew. Stringing Single, Twin, Triple and Quad Bundled Conductor capable of Voltages ranging from 132,000 - 400,000kv. Stringing OPGW and Fibre Optic Wrap on Earth Wire. Tension Stringing while Adjacent Circuit Live and GAP Wire Trained.Blocking, Tie In, Sagging, DeadEnd and Conductor Termination at Sub Stations. Jumpering and Downleads into SS and Ceiling End Platforms.Steel Replacement and Tower Assembly and Erection with Cranes and Derrick.Rapid Rail Installation and Removal.Winch and Tensioner Site Trained, Equipotential Zone\'s.
My Daily Duties as an LE2 Linesman were being part of a Stringing Crew and Steel Replacement. Spacer Removal and Installation on Twin, Triple and Quad Bundled Conductors using Powered and Manual Spacer Trolley's. I was involved in the Development of the SkySafe Catenary System in Partnership with National Grid. I was also involved in the Development of the New Earth Wire Derrick for replacing Tower Tops with 1 or Both Circuits Live.
I started on the Trainee Linesman Programme in Partnership with National Grid. After Successful completion of this program I attended the Competent Persons Course at Earring (National Grid). I was part of an Earthing, Grounding party on 275,000kv Structures and twin Bundled Conductor.Steel Assembly and Erection, Step Bolting and Tower Furniture Replacement.All aspects of being part of a 24 man Stringing Crew, Blocking, Tie In, Tower Access Platform and Pladder. Sagging, Soft and Hard Side Dead Ends.
Day to Day running of a 4 man Crew for Deadening and Sagging Phase Conductors, OHSW and OPGW.
Daily completion of Tailboards and Risk Assessments for various tasks involved in Tension Stringing.
Also My Crew and I have been Sagging Conductors using Transit sagging Methods in Manitoba on the BI Pole Projects and Newfoundland.
I have just completed the Tower Rescue and Fall Arrest courses for these Provinces.
