I would like to take the opportunity to thank you for your consideration for the position of Electrical Crew Leader at the South Slocan location. Bulletin #BCU 078/2018.

I have had the privilege to work for the Generation side of FortisBC for almost 18 years now.  In that time, I have performed a wide array of duties with the Electrical PM crew on all five river plants from P1 to P5.

I have extensive experience in Crew Leader positions with FortisBC, including working on 2 Units during the U.L.E. program  at UBO where I was acting Crew Lead of the Electrical crew for approximately one year.

I joined the Operations crew in 2006 where I also worked in the roll of Crew Leader for a year while the existing Crew Leader worked on a different project.  During this time as Crew Leader, I became very proficient in the use of Genjo and crew scheduling for the Electrical OEM (PM) crew. Upon his return, I went back to my current role as a member of the PM crew, where I have gained extensive Control Release Holder experience and operating knowledge of all equipment including safety protocols at the five river plants.

I am the primary person who replaces Gordy Stoochnoff, the present Crew Leader in this position when he has time off.  I have performed this job in South Slocan more than anyone else at FortisBC. I am more than familiar with all of the job duties for this position and would not require much training.  I am essentially ready to go to work!

I really enjoy learning more as new opportunities arise and hope you will give me a chance to prove that I can be a tremendous asset as a full time Crew Leader.

Summary
My experience in the military and specifically the final 4 years while working in the Canadian Forces Fleet School machine shop has taught me that I have a love for machining and metal working.  As I completed the basic machining course for the marine engineer trade, I was given access to the equipment in the shop.  Usually out of necessity to complete a project, I would learn a piece of equipment, show them that I could use it safely, and off I would go, with another tool in the box for the next project.  I enjoy learning a new piece of equipment and getting to learn a different tool, process, finishing method, whatever it may be.  I feel that my ability to adapt to most any situation, and excel at most any objective that I take on, are very beneficial to an employer.
