Summary
My current back round for the previous 3 years+ has been as a Logistics Coordinator for NFI Industries. As my duties as a Coordinator I had to ensure drivers received their proper assignments and made sure that they were on-time to all of their deliveries. Our customer was Traders Joe's so whether a load traveled 30 miles or 800 miles, it had to be there with in 30 minutes of delivery time and we achieved 98.5% on time. I have 1 year of experience with AS400 and 2-1/2 years experience with TMW. I have also intimate knowledge with keeping track of Drivers DOT Hours of Service through Systems like QHAUS.

Beyond that my verbal skills are impeccable and my interpersonal skills are also exceeding. I know how to speak to drivers and co-workers in such a way that shows mutual respect, therefore creating a cohesive work environment.
Skills
  • Results-oriented
  • Quick learner
  • Computer proficient
  • Microsoft Office
  • File/records maintenance
  • Scheduling Drivers
  • Inventory tracking
  • Customer service-oriented
  • Flexible schedule
  • Shipping and receiving
  • Vendor management
  • Process improvement
  • Motivated self-starter
Experience
Logistics Coordinator Mar 2014 to Apr 2017
NFI Industries Minooka, IL
As a Coordinator it was my basic duty to ensure on-time delivery whether this was for our main customer, Trader Joe's, or one of the multitude of companies we back hauled for; including Coca Cola, Anheuser Busch, Fruit of the Loom, Sams Club ect.

Beyond ensuring on time delivery for our customers we also were responsible for taking care of any issues that may arise and solving them, including random breakdowns due to mechanical failure, driver call offs due to personal issues, driver going beyond HOS (all of which we then had to devise a plan for repower ASAP). As I stated previous I am very clear on standard DOT regulations regarding Hour of Service for CDL class drivers. I have intimate of Omnitracs/Qhaus with regards to tracking this time.

When necessary it was our duty to keep up with Email's from Consignees to keep them involved in the delivery process and from Management to address any immediate issues facing the operation.

Our general use of file sharing and maintenance was via the Google Drive and Google Docs thought I do have a sufficient knowledge of Excel as we used that before the switch to Google.
Sales Representative Oct 2012 to Mar 2014
Silverleaf Inc. Norway, IL
At Silverleaf I was a Sales Rep who sold Vacation Ownership (TimeShare) packages. It was my responsibility to explain precisely how our program worked and how it would work for them on an individual, tour by tour, basis.

By the end of my time there I had achieved an Average Close % of 33.5% and an APG (Average Per Group) of $1500. So essentially 1 out of every 3 tours bought the program from me and I made the company $1500 net every time I took a group out on tour. This was above the company average.

At the end of the day the amount of pressure from management and inconsistencies of sales over periods of time led me to eventually find my current field, Transportation. I sought this as a much more stable form of income for my growing family at that time. And still do.
Education and Training
High School Diploma, General Education 2005 Ottawa Township High School Ottawa, IL, United States Always did very well in High School. Held 3.85 GPA until my Junior year and accrued enough credits by taking weighted classes and overloaded semesters to graduate early (Needed 40 had 41.5 last day of Junior Year) however our High School did not have an early graduation program at that time so I was forced to go for my Senior year, which I rebelled and bit due to them not allowing early graduation and dropped my GPA a tad. But I have always been a strong learner and communicator.
Civil Engineering Morrison Institute of Technology Morrison , IL, United States Only spent 1 semester due to lack of funds (no college savings) and inability to find work close to school.
Activities and Honors
There aren't many organizations that are Transportation related that I know of however I try to pay attention to new laws when they come out regarding anything that is DOT/CDL type Transportation related.

Beyond that I support our Local NPR station by making a donation each year and I try to spend at least a few days each Christmas season to help out at our local PADS Shelter for the Homeless. But that's more personal growth than professional, but still. I do like to read or watch documentaries about anything that relates to new technology whether it applies to Transportation or other wise.

Aside from I am always trying to learn new things. A Rolling Stone Collects No Moss!
